About Accessibility
Audio Description Service
The Liceu provides an audio description service (narration) for blind and visually impaired individuals. Each season, a limited number of seats are designated for this service. For information and ticket purchases, please contact ONCE or the Association of the Visually Impaired of Catalonia.
Magnetic Loop System
The Theater is equipped with a magnetic loop system to enhance sound amplification for users with hearing aids or cochlear implants. While the system is always active, please note that not all seats offer 100% coverage.
Apropa Cultura Program
The Gran Teatre del Liceu participates in Apropa Cultura, a social inclusion program aimed at ensuring access to culture for vulnerable groups. Through this initiative, organizations and associations can enjoy a selection of operas, dance performances, concerts, recitals, and family and school shows at El Petit Liceu.
The Liceu also extends its Apropa Cultura offerings to include access to certain dress rehearsals, guided tours, and special activities such as L’Òpera, una emoció and Entra dins del Liceu.
For more information about these programs, please consult the appropriate resources or contact the Theater directly.
Will there be subtitles?
All operas are accompanied by subtitles in Catalan, allowing the audience to follow the plot. The adapted libretto is transcribed on a screen located at the top of the stage, displayed exclusively in Catalan. For areas with limited or no direct visibility of the stage subtitles, additional screens provide both the subtitles and images of the performance. Please note that the first row of the first floor is not equipped with these screens. This service is offered free of charge and does not affect the price of tickets. In the event of any technical issues, deficiencies, or interruptions in its operation, it is not subject to claims.
